Israel has received some 150 million euro in research grants through
the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) of the European Union. Israeli companies and research institutions have been most successful
in the Information Society Technologies (IST) division said Marcel
Shaton, director general of ISERD (Israel-Europe R&D), noting
that to date they have received 64m. euro, of which 75 percent is
for R&D in industrial companies. Both BATM and Motorola Telecom
Israel stand out as clear success stories said Shaton. The FP5, which will end this year, will be replaced by the FP6,
which starts in 2003 and runs until 2006. |
