Desperate times - call for "Buy Israeli"

Members of Britain’s Jewish community are being urged to help Israel’s crisis-affected economy by buying Israeli-made Yomtov gifts on the Internet.

A website — www.shopinisrael.com — was set up earlier this year in America to help support Israeli producers and manufacturers. It sells a range of items which includes clothes, crafts, Judaica, wine, chocolates and flowers.

A spokesperson for the website, Sue Swerner, said: “Israel needs our support more than ever. We can all do something to help Israel today, by buying Yomtov gifts from Israel.”
